Book: As You Think by Marc Allen - Review by Dawn "Belladonna" Thomas

Book Review: As You Think (Second Edition) by Marc Allen

Although this book is small, the messages within it are far from small.  There are so many powerful statements.  The book starts with a poem from James Allen:

Mind is the master power that molds and makes,

And we are Mind, and evermore we take

The tool of thought, and shaping what we will,

Bring forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills.

We think in secret, and it comes to pass

Our world is but our looking glass.

- JAMES ALLEN

Below are just a few of the statements that I thought were powerful.

  • We are made or unmade by ourselves.
  • What we are was designed and built by our own thoughts in our minds.
  • Act is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruits.
  • We do not attract what we want, but what we are.
  • We don't get what we wish and pray for, we get what we justly earn.
  • Our wishes and prayers are only gratified and answered when they harmonize with our thoughts and actions.
  • You will be what you will to be; let failure find its false content in that poor word "environment," but spirit scorns it, and is free.
  • It masters time, it conquers space, it cows that boastful trickster, Chance, and bids the tyrant Circumstance Uncrown, and take a servant's place.
  • The human Will, that force unseen, the offspring of a deathless Soul, can hew a way to any goal, though walls of granite intervene.

This is a great inspirational book.  I recommend it to anyone who wants to find more positive messages in their life.
