Help Texas Women Retain Control Over Their Bodies

Last Tuesday in an amazing filibuster, Senator Wendy Davis stood in the hall at the State Capital of Texas in Austin and kept the bill that would virtually prevent women from controlling of their own bodies from passing.  Because she was able to follow all the rules and continue her filibuster – time ran out.  The makers of this bill intentionally kept this bill out of the regular session – waiting to call a shorter “special” session with much less stringent rules.  They failed, thanks to Wendy.  Now they are attempting to call another special session to try again.  Many people are rallying to stop this special session from happening.

Will you lend your support to this effort?  Beginning today – focus your energy toward Austin while thinking of the women of Texas who could lose the ability to choose – and stop any special session from happening!  This is a weekend effort – so please begin now! Texas is a huge state with over 26 million people – imagine how many women would be affected by this bill to succeed.  We need to show these righteous law makers who think they “know best” – that they are wrong.  We must fight to hold onto rights of women so valiantly claimed in the past.
